Mish Mash.

On my stereo right now:

Black Eyed Peas
Joss Stone
Gwen Stefani
Duffy
Kesha
Jay-Z
Amy Winehouse
Lilly Allen

And that's who I clean to. You think those songs are bad? You should see me bust my moves to them. Now that is bad.

I've been trying something different with my to-do lists. I get really bored with tasks that take longer than 10 minutes and tend to stop and do something dumb, like play Yahtzee Adventure on my iPod instead.

Yahtzee Adventure can get you into real bad trouble.

Like when your husband needs clean undies and you think...hmmm...I know I put them in the wash....and then I remember scoring 514 on Rainbow Yahtzee for the first time ever....and then I jumped and screamed for joy...and then....it's all a blur from there.

Well the blur is cleared when you check the washing machine and they are all still there. Not dry. And not wearable. And he needs to leave in 5 minutes.

See, real bad trouble.

So my new way of doing my to-do list is simple. I do what I call the to-do list circuit. I make a list but each task can not take longer than 10 minutes and the following task has to be totally different and in a different part of the house. This keeps me not bored, up and going, and truly more productive.

For example, my to-do list on Friday went like this:
  • start a load of laundry
  • empty dishwasher
  • make beds
  • straighten up guest bathroom and master bathroom
  • 10 minute break
  • Switch laundry to dryer and start another load
  • load dishwasher for 10 minutes (there was a LOT of dishes)
  • pick up everything off of floors of bedrooms
  • straighten living room
  • sweep all hard floors
  • break
  • fold clothes and put up, switch other load to dryer
  • load dishwasher for 10 minutes
  • straighten office
  • wipe down bathrooms (quickly...toilets, sink, countertops, and mirrors)
  • Break
  • vacuum
  • fold and put up last load of laundry
Can you believe I got it all done? Every last thing. Levi was thinking that maybe I hired some help it was so good. It didn't take me all day either, only about 4 hours. The key is, however, to not start doing something stupid like cleaning the door hinges with a toothbrush. In the scheme of things, that's not important. And those of you who do that sort of thing know exactly what I'm talking about.

And if you have a newborn or a very busy young toddler....this doesn't exactly apply unless you have an extra set of arms to tend to your sweet bundle of won't-let-you-get-anything-done :) You might try just putting ONE thing on your list and see if it gets done within 24 hours.

So, if you are in a rut try something different. Change up your normal routine and see if it helps give you a boost.

And lastly for today:

-Ping is gone...YAY!
-Black Eyed Peas should have won best album Sunday night.
-Lady Gaga makes me ill. All DJ's should boycott her just because she has the dumbest name ever and them saying her name makes them sound dumb too.
-Kinda miss Paula on AI.
-Lost another pound.
-Speaking of Lost...Premiere comes on tonight. Last season. But it's SO time. Let me guess....we will find out that it WAS a smoke monster. The end. And then I will cuss the last 5 years spent watching it.
-I was really pissed off yesterday and I think it was b/c I wanted to eat junk food. Crazy how addictive that stuff is. I didn't cave though. I had a mock apple crisp instead. Recipe coming soon.

I would love to post pictures of the girls' room. But my camera has been lost for a week. Mia decided to hide it from her sister so it wouldn't get broken. Only she can't remember exactly where she hid it. *SIGH* I'm trying to be sweet, patient, and kind. Prompting her ever so gently to try to remember...

But I want my gall-darn camera, dang-it.

Your choice of music make me giggle. I think we could make money getting people to pay not to see us dance. And Lady Gaga? Never even heard one of her songs. I can probably die happy. We made a choice about five years ago to listen to Christian music @ home and in the car, but I heard some Black Eyed Peas Boom Boom sweetness on a commercial and have been repeating the same ten seconds of the song to Mijo for weeks. Only yesterday did I hear the full song on Pandora and almost peed myself. They drop the tshitzhu like nobodies business. His first words will probably be "Boom Boom Pow" and I'll get dirty looks in the market from good moms. I am SO JEALOUS of your oops moments while cleaning. I'm plagued with OCD and your idea of cleaning the door hinges with a toothbrush was thrilling. I spend a lot of time crying because I do have a toddler and he follows me destroying my hard work. It's nice to know that the grass is equally green on both sides of the fence. But you have Rainbow Yahtzee!

OK, you dont get to listen to Ke$ha (who only sings about getting drunk and peeing in places she shouldn't) and diss Gaga. I will not allow it!~ I LOVE Lady GaGa
Lady GaGa
Lady GaGa
Lady GaGa

I'm totally just doing that to annoy you. :D

I use a similar system at work, BTW, because I hate work!

I hated Ping too. Oh my goodness did I hate Ping.

Yes Stevie...bad bad words. But I do have the censored version and my kids are in school :) And this is the first time in 6 years that I have some alone time. Exactly 4 hours on Tuesday and Thursday. Bliss. And I choose to spend it listening and shaking my rump to inappropriate music!

I KNOW. Should not be allowed to listen to that Kesha girl but I like that Tik Tok song. And about LG, I'll just call her that, I do like her music BUT her whole persona and weirdness puts me off b/c it's like she tries to hard. She should sing about peeing and maybe I'd like her.

I saw an interview with her (LG) and it was so ick that it sort of swayed me. Then I heard an interview with Kesha and it kinda made me like her.

I know...I got music issues. But in the mean time I'm gonna brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack...bwahahahaha!

Don't know who Ping is. I don't know who anybody cool is. Still a country girl.

I think I am going to copy and paste that list and print it....except I've got one of those little guys that makes things take twice as long, but I could still work on it. It would help me. I need to add pack a box here and there on it too. Tonight is video night and tomorrow begins packing!

...and I'm am one of those to do a random unimportant, although good, task to keep from doing the task that really needs to be done...like putting up the groceries turns into organizing canned goods in the pantry.
